  • 27

A detailed guide for the first approach with our AUTODJ (Easy Radio V.3) that enables you to create a few tens of minutes, a real channel streaming online customized with your needs.

Once you have ordered your server with AutoDJ, the system will send you an email with the following information:

Web address on the control panel of the platform
Username and password to access the panel.
password for live streaming (not to be confused with the live streaming of the DJ. streaming This password can only be used if the server were to be used as a streaming server without autodj classic.
Tools necessary for the use and programming of 'Auto DJ:

A computer (windows, mac or linux) connected to the Internet
A browser (we recommend Firefox or Chrome. Other browsers may not work)
An FTP client program (we recommend Filezilla, powerful and free. CLIENT download version) (optional)
A program to manage and convert mp3 files (we recommend  Free Mp3 converter) (optional)

STEP 1 - Prepare audio files

For better performance of your channel webradio, please prepare carefully all the files you are going to transfer to your server AutoDJ. The basic rules are as follows:

All files is good that they are the same bitrate, but is not essential. The important that they are in mp3 at a bitrate equal to or greater than the bitrate of transmission of the highest and mountpoint (important) with a sampling frequency to 44.100 kHz (never 22.050 or other).
If the files are different bitrates will think anyway Centova Cast 3.0 to encode the output according to the mountpoint and format.
Try to cut all the files in the blanks in the front and rear. You will ensure better mixing of the elements in the sequences.
Normalize files to the same volume. You'll have less fluctuations in the audio stream of your radio.
Try to separate your music into different groups (new, oldies, Italian etc. Etc.) This will allow you to better plan your musical sequences.
For working files, convert them to a single mp3 bitrate, normalize and cut (trim) the silence in the head and tail can use Free MP3 Converter that we have recommended above.

WARNING: We have often found some problems with the FTP clients with wrong settings about the encoding of the language files. When you upload files via FTP, we recommend to make sure that they do not have in file name accented characters (à ò type is ù é). May cause problems and block AutoDJ. To verify that your FTP client has the right setting, load a file with an accented letter and then try to delete it or rename it using the file manager of Centova Cast. If the operation is successful then you should have no problems with these files . If it fails, never use this file in the playlist and try to delete it immediately with FTP. If you can't, open a ticket and request the cancellation forced to our technicians.

STEP 2 - Upload the files to the server

When you have the file you need to upload them to the server through the web interface present on your panel or your FTP client (Filezilla). To load a large number of files it is preferable to use FTP. For a small number of songs, commercials, jingles programs (daily schedule or routine), you can safely use the panel file manager. Upload your files ONLY in the media directory. Don't use other directory you find in the root.

Web Panel:

On the menu on the left panel click on AutoDJ / Files. Come into File Manager, navigate to the folder where you want to upload your files and press "upload" below.

This will open a popup that will allow you to select files on your computer and upload the selected directory.

Via FTP:

On the control panel of your server, click on the left menu "Quick Links", in this section you will find all the necessary links and data to run your server.
Under Ftp copied to the host address of your server and paste it in the HOST field of Filezilla. Enter the username and password that you received and Filezilla to connect to your FTP server.
CAUTION: Do not insert filezilla on the door of your Easy radio. The port field must remain empty (or the maximum must be the port 21, which is that of FTP).

In Filezilla on the left there are the folders on your computer, on the right of your remote folders on the server.

On the server you will connect to different folders. What interests you, where you have to load all the material, the folder "media": open it with a double click.

At this point you'll want to create in the media folder subfolders with the names of the types of files you are going to load: for example, "Songs", "Italian songs", "Jingle", "Spot" etc.etc.
Remember that inside the folder "media" you can enter a maximum of one level of subfolders. In addition they are not allowed (ie if you create a folder inside POP you can not create another one.

Please drag and drop files from your computer to the server folders to load. To as many as 15 Gbytes of disk space available and then you can load very many songs, over a thousand.
The duration of the loading time depends on the speed of your connection.

STEP 3 - Preparing the server

Connected to your control panel and click on the menu to "configure your server."
Title of stream write the name of your radio, put on website URL address of your website. In the section on Gender AutoDJ write the kind of music or the radio you want to do, such as POP, ROCK, TALK, NEWS etc. etc.. In the Crossfade enter the number of seconds before the mix of tracks. In the "threshold" enter the number of seconds in which you do not want a file to be mixed with the following (if you put 30 seconds, it means that all files that are shorter than 30 seconds will not be mixed with each other, great for commercials and jingles).

In the section you will find the default mountpoints the first and main server "/ stream". Click on the mountpoint and the section "autoDJ settings" rule the type of encoder you want to use for this stream: MP3 or AAC +, bitrate (the sum of the bit rate of all the mountpoint must not exceed 192k). We recommend that you leave the other default values. When the server is given the mountpoint / stream is set in aac +.

Please note that while it is not to pay any license to broadcast in AAC +, form MP3 you need an additional licence you will obtain during purchaising of the product.

Once you obtain your license code please enter them in the appropriate fields in the "AutoDJ."

Click on UPDATE. Your server is ready to be programmed.

IMPORTANT: Each time you change any configuration (settings) server, you still need to restart the same server for changes to take effect. Not an easy way could save the settings.

STEP 4 - Update the library file

Click again on "AutoDJ / Media" and you'll see all the material you have uploaded via FTP or panel divided by Artist or title. On OPTIONS to the right you can select "Browse for Folder" (recommended), to see the library in the form of folders that you have created on 'FTP.

Every time you load new material on the panel or FTP server, the library will update automatically in a few minutes. Unlike version 2 of Centova Cast, you do not need to manually update the library. If it should happen that the material uploaded via FTP or panel does not appear in the media library, you may want to wait a few minutes or come and go in the panel.

STEP 5 - Creating and programming the playlist

Let's go to the very heart of the system: Click on the menu "AutoDJ / Playlists" Playlists are folders where you can add your files to reason with very precise rules.

You need to create a folder for each item you want to turn in your radio. The system proposes you 5 examples and from those you can get started.

Try to open a playlist by clicking on the icon in the center of the right. You can give the playlist a name, decide whether to enable it, and decide how to act on the flow of the radio:

General rotation
Suitable for music; You can choose to play songs randomly (random) or in order of those that you place. Playback WEIGHT decides the weight of this playlist than other General Rotation playlists. For example, if you create two playlists General: an Italian music and one of foreign music, If the playlist of foreign music by a weight 10 and the Italian a weight of 5, when the director will select the pieces to be put on the air play on the radio double tracks foreigners than Italians. Finally, you can enable your playlists in only a few hours of the day or leave it up and running.

It 'good to remember that Centova Cast reasons within 24 hours. So playlists 'general' must refer to a single day. For example, if you want a playlist 'general' is broadcast from 20:00 to 8:00 in the morning, you need to create 2 equal: one from 20.00 to 23.59 and another from 00.00 to 8.00. However, when a playlist 'general' must play all day (always enabled), make sure that there is no scheduled time (all over the symbol '-' present in the pull-down menu of schedules).

Scheduled
To schedule an event in time. The items in the playlist will be played the day and the time you program on this page. You can decide whether to play all the tracks in sequential order, random or if you just play a random track in the playlist .. You can also decide whether to grant another playlist-time (scheduled) to terminate the current playlist or wait until the end and put it in something or give you a maximum of minutes to wait before forcing the break.

Interval
Suitable for radio jingles. The contents of the playlist will be played (all or random one at a time) every X minutes or X grains music. Anyway, the director will always wait the end of a song before inserting the element. The music will never be interrupted and played until the end.

Immediate
Sounds immediately the contents of a playlist you have just enabled. You can choose to play the tracks in sequence or random.
To get started and to understand how it works, it enables two playlists: one for music and one for the general Rotation Interval jingles (eg every 2 songs).

STEP 6 - Loading the playlist

On the menu click on "AutoDJ / Media" choose and select the music and make drag & drop of one of the playlists you've created there that you will find on the left. Do the same with the jingle. Left clicking on the playlist you can view its content and modify it if necessary. If the changes mentioned before going out to save the playlist by clicking on the SAVE button at the bottom right. To select multiple files for drag and drop use the control key (on Mac).

STEP 7 - ON AIR

At this point, if you have successfully created and uploaded your AutoDJ, go to the main page of your panel by clicking on "Overview".
On the menu click on "Server / Start".
Your radio is on the air and you can see los toric tracks in the central part of the panel.

IMPORTANT: Until the new update, whenever a command to start / stop / restart the server, even though the command response is positive, the left menu is not automatically updated. Before continuing it is recommended to always update the page by clicking on "view".

To listen to your channel, you can click on a link near the top right of the panel.

In the "General / quick links" menu you will find as the first entry in the upper link to your personalized "Your Start Page test for streaming" that you can give interested parties to listen to your radio, show titles and statistics. If you have your own website, give your webmaster links that are always quick links in the "Links for listening." Using the server aac +, the best way to exploit the opportunities on your site is to order our HTML5 Player.

In the "Configuration / Widgets" menu you can configure and generate a lot of code Html / javascript that your webmaster can use to the pages of the radio.

STEP 8 - CREATING A AUTHHASH (make public the stream on the site Shoutcast.com)

Unlike Shoutcast 1, in the version 2 of the shoutcast publication in the public directory of shoutcast.com is not automatic. You need to create an account authorization which is called "Authhash."

By default, the server is delivered in private mode. First you need to enter in the server configuration (configuration / settings) and in the "override server" select "public server" to "Automatic" or "always." After saving and restart sever.

In the menu click on "server / admin". You will find the administration page of your server Shoutcast2. In the upper right click on "Administrator Login" and enter "admin" for the username and password on the control panel. You will be presented with a list of Mountpoint active on your server. Click on "Create Authhash" Enter the name of the radio Station Name (this will be the real name, which will be listed in the directory), a description of the channel (optional), genre, search keys, the address of the site "website", select your country in the "country" (for example, "Italy") and the main language used in the channel. Do not check the "Make Primary Private Server".

Now click on Create Authhash and your server will be listed in the Shoutcast directory within 10/15 minutes.

We also remind you that once you change the configuration in the "public" server, you can not even hear the sound until it is created the 'corresponding Authhash.

ON AIR LIVE DJ and Permissions

Centova Cast 3 has for much more advanced and powerful DJ allowed to go live.

Click on "Configuration / DJs", you can create an unlimited account for your DJ and assign them different powers and limits of intervention within the panel and even the days and times in which you can connect.

Whenever we create an account DJs, we will have a 'username and passwords for each user. These data will be used by each DJ set to enter the control panel and connect with your encoder and go live.

WARNING: It 'important that every time you create or edit a DJ in DJmanagement you must enter the server's configuration (settings), save (even if you have not changed anything) and then restart the server. Otherwise the changes to section DJmanagement will not work.

At the moment of having to transmit a live program, to prepare its encoder with data for the connection:

Method with Shoutcast Encoder 1

Prepare your encoder (we recommend MBRecaster) and set it in mode Shoutcast V1, mp3 at 128k (You can also use aac + at lower bitrates).
Host Address and port (the port must be that of the server + 2, for example if the port of shoutcast server is 8100, the port to use for the connection is 8102)
password must be composed by combining streaming DJ username and password with the ":" (eg username:password).

Method with Shoutcast Encoder 2

Prepare your encoder (we recommend MBRecaster) and set it in mode Shoutcast V2, mp3 128k (You can also use aac + at lower bitrates).
Host Address and port (the port must be that of the server + 4, for example, if the port of the shoutcast server is 8100, the port to use for the connection is 8104)
For SID: Enter 1 if required in the encoder. In the case of MBRecaster or MBStudio add ' ,1 ' at streaming (eg: nr11.newradio.it:8104.1)
In the username field put the user name of the DJ
Password in the password field of the DJ

Quicklinks section you will find the correct parameters for the connection.
When you're ready it will be sufficient to enable the encoder. Your server Easy Radio automatically switches your radio channel on the input signal without dropping the ratings.

At the end of your live will be sufficient to turn the encoder directly and your radio will automatically return on Easy 'AutoDJ.

It 'important to know that during the live show AutoDJ is paused. After connecting the DJ will resume from where it stopped.

NB

When a DJ is Live, the flow will be automatically inserted on all server mountpoint respecting audio formats and bitrate. This means that if your server has for example 2 mountpoint: a 128k mp3 and another at 64k aac +, also the live DJ will air in the same way.
